What is rolled back

See this Gotlight guy keeps on rolling back questions about "Find references in scene". Fact is, he answered them all with a link to an asset that I would assume is his, but not free. So I would also assume it starts to look like spam.

It ticked me coz I don't come often here anymore but I noticed those questions two days in a row.

There is a third question of his higher in the list...

But what is rolled back?

I'm going to XXX try it now:

Edit: OK, yes, I was able to get it to tell me "rolled back." Edit (at least) once, then select Edit again. Look at the Revisions History dropdown on top. It will be set to the highest numbered edit, which is the one you're currently making. If you selecting a previous edit and save (don't add or changing anything else, even though you are allowed to) the system counts that as a rollback. Just to note, a rollback still adds one more thing to the Revision History.

Looking at gotlight's Answers, gotlight appears to be pinging them every day or two, using a rollback (there are 20+ no-change edits on the two I looked at.)

There's nothing exceptionally deceptive about that, since you could do the same thing using a normal edit (add and remove a blank line or something.) But "Edit, select previous in history, save" is probably the cleanest way to ping. Seems pointless for this, since people will find it through Search, not on the front page. I wonder if some 3rd party SEO isn't doing it?

Alright thanks. Considering he is doing it every couple of days, he is quite spam$$anonymous$$g his asset.

The UA system could limit the amount of edit per user on a post, but there may be bigger issues before that.

Yep, bumping his post to stay at the top. I'd warn him once and suspend him if he keeps doing it.

I've seen this behaviour a hell of a lot on here.
