No. Once you get enough points you are allowed to access the moderation Que. Its all voluntary. And I believe you can lose the privileged if you abuse it (I haven't lost mine yet so think I am doing things right)

As a follow-up, read the FAQ and $$anonymous$$oderatorGuidelines. They explain this in more detail. There was, I think, 1 paid moderator who worked for Unity, but that was years ago. So you can't lose privileges for abusing them - there's no one to complain to.

There were a bunch of Unity reps at some points, they were holding two diamonds next to their name. I don't even think anyone from Unity keeps an eye on this place, it is more of an abandoned neighborhood that once was striving and lively but is now just a bunch of empty warehouses waiting for gentrification.
