Why am i seeing $$anonymous$$ all over the place?

I keep finding questions, answers, and comments with "$$anonymous$$" replacing parts of words.

For example in this thread: https://answers.unity.com/questions/959091/how-can-i-make-a-lerp-move-in-an-arc-instead-of-a.html

Scroll through the comments and you'll see that the word "instead" has been replaced with "ins$$anonymous$$d" . Some other words too.

What's going on here?

Probably some idiot tried to hack this site but only managed to replace all "M" and "ea" strings with "$$anonymous$$" I guess this is only affected post in a specific time range. It is sad that some idiot tries to sabotage a help forum. how pathetic is that?
